I have studied Japanese in a foreign language school in Japan for 6 months. I learned the grammar and reading of Japanese, and in holidays we had the activities like visit the temples. But there were lots of Taiwanese, so after class we always spoke in Chinese then forgot to practice Japanese.== I think it's not good for studying foreign language.

I'd like to study Turkish in a language school in Turkey because it is good to learn the language in the place where it is actually spoken. I like studying foreign languages through conversation practices, skits, and discussions.

I want to study Spanish in Spain or other countries where it is spoken. Yet I don't want to study in a language school because I want to learn through outdoor or cultural activities with those who have various experiences.

I have studied Spanish in two different language schools in Spain. The bad point was that all the students around me were also foreigners and it was difficult for me to make native Spanish friends. Nonetheless I had the chance to speak, read, write, and listen to more Spanish than ever and that let me improve my Spanish skills. Also because the two schools that I went to were attached to Spanish universities, I was lucky enough to interact with some Spanish people outside of class too.

I want to be a good French speaker, but i do not want to study it in a language school.
ReplyDeleteI think that the best way is to make friends with native speakers and play around with them all day long every day.

I have studied Turkish in Turkey so I learned its grammar in Turkish and could realize it in the real life, such as TV program, talk with native friends. I think it's good to learn language in life, not in just school. However, if there are many Japanese in a language school, it's very difficult to practice the foreign language.

I have been to the language school in Paris and studied French there last year.
ReplyDeleteThe good point was that I could studied with people who are come from many different countries. I could progresse French and also English because our common language were these two. And, one more good point was that we could choose classes which we want to study, such as French cooking, culture, history etc.

I'm going to study Spanish at the language school in Alcala, Spain from this summer. Alcala is near to Madrid, and there aren't strong accent nor dialect. So I think it's a good place to study Spanish.
ReplyDeleteI would like to learn spanish not only in the class, but also in life. And I hope I could communicate with other students who come from other countries, and know thier culture and how they think.

ReplyDeleteI have studied English in a foreign language school in America when I was a high school student.
The good point is that the teachers of there were very kind and there were a lot of students who were from various countries. So we could learn a lot of things about the other countries.

I have sudied English in a Australian English shool. The teacher was of course Australian so I always had to use English in class. That made me improve my English reading, writing and grammar skill. However, because of not being able to make Australian friends, I could hardly improve my communication skill.

I don't think that going a foreign language school is effective to learn foreign languages. In my opinion, the best way to develop our skill of foreign languages is to go to the place where the language is spoken and make frends with the native speakers.

I have studied English in the US when I was a high school student. I am not sure it was good for me because i wasn't able to understand English well. However I met a lot of students from different countries there. It was good for me.

I studied Spanish in a language school in Spain.
ReplyDeleteThe good point was that I could learn Spanish "in Spanish" with native teachers without any explanation in Jpanese and that helped me so much because I could even think "in Spanish" in my head.
The bad poit was that the students were non-native speakers of Spanish of course, so they tended to speak in English outside of class because it was easier.

I would like to study English in the Philippines. Because official language is English, and people are good to speak English. And more, language school in Philippine is much cheaper than which in America. I want to develop my conversation skill.

I would like to study a foreign language, preferably spanish in south america rather than spain because of financial reasons. I would like to learn it naturally, by living in a spanish-speaking environment.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to study in a local university rather than a foreign language school.
One of my Chinese teachers said that in foreign language schools most of the students are "foreigners," and less opportunity to communicate with native speakers.

1. Have you studied in a foreign language school? What were the good/bad points?
ReplyDeleteI studied abroad in Germany and Ireland, where I visited local foreigh language schools.
In Germany both good and bad points came from the same reason; the school was small and didn't have many students.
Sometimes I was put in higher level class and chould learn a lot in order to catch up with other students.
On the other hand, I could hear German with limited kind of accent and had difficulty to get accustomed to that of others.
In Ireland we could join a lot of activities, from Iresh language to even how to get a job!
So that the program can adjust every students' perpose.
Only bad point was they're repeating the same book, which get students and even teacher bored.
But I do love both of schools.
